Climb a few granite steps into the open plan kitchen and downstairs sitting room area. Whitewashed throughout, black granite surfaces, gleaming white units (which cleverly are drawers for easy access culinary calm..) top-notch chrome fittings, Bosch appliances on show and integrated where necessary - as you would imagine, Cherry Garden’s kitchen is wonderfully equipped. An ingenious use of space means Cherry Garden has both a ‘winter’ sitting snug area as part of the open plan kitchen living space on the ground floor. A Morso wood burning stove and a cosy sofa for two would be the perfect curl-up place to retire too after supper, or simply to catch up on a bit of holiday reading whilst the wind whips around the village outside... Upstairs is the Summer Sitting room - very light and airy, surrounded by a galleried area and open beams. Kick-back in the bespoke L-Shaped sofa - this is surely the spot to flick through a few Glossy Magazines or the weekend papers whilst keeping an eye on the view out to sea?
SleepingCherry Garden Retreat has a gloriously light double bedroom flowing from the upstairs sitting room (think more of a Suite feel than two separate rooms) . A glamorous armoire and a Baroque king-size bed gives the room a distinctly continental feel but with stunning views out over Penzance Bay and St Michaels Mount, it is more than clear that you are this side of the channel! White linens, fluffy towels all the usual mod cons you would expect (including hair straightners if you need them) will be waiting for you in this seaside boudoir!
The Second bedroom is downstairs in what used to be a potters studio. Again, a king-sized bed fits snugly into this cosy room, with oak block flooring whitewashed wood panelled walls and charming granite steps leading upstairs from the outside.
BathingA contemporary bathroom downstairs with a double-ended steel bath, and an over-bath monsoon shower perfect for long soaks or a quick refresh after a day on the water.
GardenA small outside front garden area, compete with a table and chairs, perfect for a spot of al fresco eating or a glass of wine in the evenings watching the sunset over the bay...
LocationLittle wonder Dylan Thomas dubbed Mousehole the loveliest village in England: lush, sub-tropical gardens, fabulous art galleries, a boat-filled harbour with enough sand for castles - the postcard-perfect fishing village pronounced ‘Mouzel’ provides a storybook Cornwall experience. Wake up to the sound of seagulls, take long lazy walks along the rugged coast, stop for a Cornish cream tea overlooking the harbour - who needs to holiday beyond England’s shores?
