Stones throw from the sea
Light, bright open plan living in this converted seaside studio. The Store Room is small but perfectly formed. The lime washed floors and white washed walls with open beams ceilings are a perfect canvas for the splashes of fuchsias and aquamarines. A clever blend of modern industrial in the chrome flue from the log burning stove sits happily at home with the sheepskin rugs and glass topped coffee table.
EatingAs with the whole of the retreat, space is well thought out and the Kitchen is a perfect example. The black contemporary units (and drawers) work really well in contrast against the whites and natural woods of the rest of the living space. Light pours in from the skylights over the work areas and you can choose to eat at the dining table, or weather permitting, why not head outside for a balmy summer evening in your private wrap-around courtyard area. Overlooked only by seagulls.
SleepingThrough a small, open corridor, the bedroom has a distinctly French feel with a king-sized bed and Amorie and wall to ceiling glass doors which open into a tiny courtyard area at the back of the retreat.
BathingTucked into the corner of the bedroom is a Japanese plunge bath, a deep, angular bath for submerging into (you can both jump in there is plenty of room). A power shower overhead to blow away the morning cobwebs or to blast off the sand after a day in the surf - the loo and sink are in a separate washroom to the left of the bedroom.
GardenThe Store Room has a small, wrap-around Cotswold stone area potted with lavenders and rosemary. There is cleverly built in wooden seating as well as a bistro set of outside tables and chairs. The outside space is fully surrounded by timber fencing so you are pretty private and the whole area is south facing and a fabulous suntrap.
ParkingPlease be aware that the parking area is allocated to The Old Stores, the neighbouring property, but may be available by separate negotiation. Please ask at the time of booking. Please do budget in the car park which is £2-£3 per day in peak season (weekly passes are also available). The quayside car parks are a moments' walk away and there is a larger car park at the entrance to the village as well.
