Gylly is spread out over three floors and with sea glimpses from the bedroom; the retreat has a fresh contemporary feel with an understated glitziness, wrapped up in a traditional fisherman's cottage. The sitting room is on the ground floor, light and spacious with high ceilings and large sash windows (unusual in Mousehole). Stripped wooden white painted flooring, a modern white leather sofa combined with more traditional seating make for plenty of places to kick back and relax with the papers or to watch the logs burn in a cream stove.
EatingDownstairs into the kitchen, galley sized but bespoke with a handmade wooden kitchen, gleaming granite surfaces and immaculate attention to detail and use of space. Integrated dishwasher, washing-dryer and state of the art oven with halogen hob sits next to the double Belfast sink. A charming breakfast bar has been cleverly built into the alcove between the kitchen and the bathroom. Enjoy your morning coffee listening to the Roberts Revival Radio.
SleepingOn the first floor you will find a super king sized French bed, oversized floor lanterns, high ceilings and built in hanging wardrobes and cupboards. Double aspect windows over rooftops and with peaks at the harbour also guarantee this bedroom is flooded with natural light whatever the time of year!
BathingA French Grey folding screen separates the roll top bath from the rest of the bedroom. Sitting atop its own slate platform, depending on which end you choose, you can glimpse the sea (or each other) in a bath big enough for two! A separate bathroom and power shower are downstairs next to the kitchen.
ParkingPlease be aware that parking is not available at Gylly. Traffic permitting it is usually possible to do a 'bag drop' at the bottom of Cherry Garden Street and carry your bags up the hill to the cottage. You will then have to park the car in either of the quayside car parks which are a minutes' walk away.
Please do budget in the car parking charge which is £2-£3 per day in peak season (weekly passes are also available). The quayside car parks are a moments' walk away and there is a larger car park at the entrance to the village as well.
