This cosy cottage has a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere. Walk through the front door into a small hallway area for hanging coats and you find yourselves in a beamed ceiling sitting room, wooden floor, original granite mantels and a log burning stove. A contemporary sofa and large retro armchair combine with ease in this traditional granite cottage which has been renovated with superb attention to detail.
EatingA small kitchen is separate from the sitting room and makes the very best use of space. There are lovely views out towards Mounts Bay from the sitting room. Complete with washing machine and brand new top notch appliances, the only thing we simply couldn't squeeze in was a dishwasher! The dining table and chairs are in the sitting room which makes for a perfect supper by the fire. In warmer weather surely the best place to eat is outside in your very own front garden.
SleepingUpstairs there is a double bedroom with fabulous sea views from the continental double bed. A large oak chest of drawers and a built in bespoke hanging cupboard ensures plenty of space for your holiday wardrobe. Waking up with that view is surely one of the nicest ways to start a holiday? White linens and soft grey mohair blankets give the room a contemporary feel.
BathingThe bathroom is behind the bedroom - totally brand new in soft creams and chrome. A full sized bath with overhead power shower and state of the art thermostat system with the taps to ensure your bath is the perfect temperature.
GardenTo the front of Number 4 is a private garden, stocked with mature and exotic shrubs and plants (even some tropical ones, Mousehole has its own micro climate so you can spot olive trees and banana palms). There is a set of tables and chairs for al fresco dining and these can be found in the large summer house. Unusually for Mousehole the garden is a really good size and has views out to Mounts Bay. The private garden area is a hidden oasis and a real perk of this special little retreat.
ParkingPlease be aware that parking is not available at Number 4. Traffic permitting it is usually possible to do a 'bag drop' at lane to the terrace and carry your bags a short walk (20yrds) up to the cottage. You can then park your car in either of the quayside car parks which are a few minutes' walk away. Parking costs between £2-£3 a day and a weekly pass can be bought for a reduced rate.
